After graduating from the University of Queensland with an ag business degree, Ken worked for various pesticide companies in market development roles in Asia Pacific and completed a post grad in Integrated Plant Protection.
During the 1980s he joined a farm services company as an agronomist and later in a marketing role.
Ken set up Quality Silage Systems in 1990 and pioneered contract growing, harvesting, and management of silage; from corn initially and later sorghum and barley. This silage management business evolved over 12 years into a knowledge company that supplied premium silage consumables, including bacterial cultures for fermentation and sealing films.
In 2010 Lallemand acquired the business from the Rich family, and Ken has continued to work as a consultant to the new owners, as well as consulting on an independent basis to corporate clients in Australia and Asia Pacific.
Ken has 25 years experience setting up and managing silage systems for intensive ruminant businesses in the Asia Pacific region, including 11 years experience in China.
