Tom is a private consultant on dairy health and production based in England. He has a BVSc and PhD in Veterinary Science from Bristol University. During his career, Tom has worked in both farm animal veterinary practice and in academia at Bristol and Reading Universities.
Tom’s current work involves providing consultancy services to the dairy cow and goat units, veterinary surgeons, milk buyers and government bodies throughout England and Wales. He has run post-graduate training courses on dairy cow nutrition for over 25 years and more recently on dairy herd finances. He is the senior author of the standard textbook on dairy cow nutrition used in the UK. He has written and spoken widely for a range of veterinary, agricultural and trade audiences.
