At Silostop we are continually looking to improve our offering and compare it not just against the main silage covering products on the market but against our own range. Last week we visited the world renown INRA Research farm in Northern France where they have bunkers covered with Max and Nets, Orange and Anti UV Covers, Max Plus and Nets and other trial products we are quietly working away on.
The Research Centre were very keen to try the Orange/Anti UV Covers as they are concerned about overall plastic usage on the farm for both carbon emissions, single use plastic reduction and recycling purposes.
All the bunkers have good condition covers, plenty of gravel bags to keep the weight on the sheets and they use a KUHN Self Propelled Feeder Wagon to remove the crop which ensures the face is kept in perfect condition.
As they use Oxygen Barrier films on all of the bunkers there is no issue of waste so all the silage is able to go straight into the feeder wagon which saves so much time, energy and money.
We will keep you updated with how the bunkers feed out and should have some great footage of the farm coming soon as we used a drone to help us take some great images and videos.
