Welsh Hockey and Silostop Agri

Welsh Hockey and Silostop Agri
As part of the Milbank Group, supporting communities is at the centre of what we do. During these last few years, we have found different ways to show our support to the Welsh Agricultural community.

Silostop Agri recently donated our Secure Covers™ Gravel Bags and Sunshades to the Anchor show - a charity event in aid of the Welsh Air Ambulance. The bags were used to help weigh down the show jumps in the arenas and the sunshades provided some much-needed shelter from the very hot weather we had in August this year. The show was a great success and a fantastic effort in support of the charity, with a donation raised of £2500 this year. We can all agree this has gone to support all of those in need of the air ambulance across rural Wales.

This time around, we are sponsoring the Hockey Wales Men's O50 Team in the World Masters Hockey Championship which is taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, between the 1st and the 10th of October.

Hockey Wales is an organisation that uses hockey as a tool to promote societal and environmental sustainability and make a positive change in Wales. They work with people who want to get involved in hockey from ages 7 to 70 across Wales with multiple teams and clubs.

This year, the Hockey Wales Men's O50 Team will be part of the World Masters Hockey (WMH) 2022 World Cup tournament in South Africa. Just like Hockey Wales, WMH aims to make hockey a lifelong sport that inspires. SA Masters is proud to announce that 230 of the 265 games played in Cape Town will be live-streamed, making this the biggest streamed tournament of its kind. You can watch it live on Youtube here Let us know if you spot our Group Chairman Sean Milbank, as he represents Wales on the Men’s O50 team!

Glenn Paton, the WMH President, said it better than we could, “When you watch hockey being played in so many different styles and approaches by so many colourful characters from all over the world, there is an overwhelming feeling of being part of something magical. Being part of the Hockey Family is not dissimilar to being with your own family back home. The time-gap between World Cups just disappears when friends you haven’t seen for a few years greet you with a warmth and sincerity that induce hugs, handshakes, and smiles, which take your breath away…”

We are proud to sponsor of the Hockey Wales Men O50 Team, and we hope you join in and watch alongside us this wonderful sport between 1st and 10th of October.
